Taggerty township is close by, nesting at the foot of the Cathedral Mountain Range, a mere 160 kms from Melbourne CBD (approx 1.5 hrs drive). This proximity, according to the actual monthly records of rainfall maintained by the manager of Clearstream Olive Farms Pty Ltd, has shown the "Clearstream" area to record in excess of 800mm of rainfall per annum.

The mean minimum temperature in the Taggerty area is in the range 1°C to 4°C. The mean maximum temperature is 36°C to 40°C. The area records a high number of clear sunny days, good for the health of the trees and is not susceptible to high winds being protected by the undulating nature of surrounding country.The southern part of Australia is now recognised as having a Mediterranean climate, ideal for the growth of the Olive Tree.
